My husband said it looks a little red on the incision site. Should I be worried? I have no health insurance at this time so that is why I am asking. Thank you.

See a doctor immediately - it could be an infection

At 5 1/2 months you should be fine unless you are running a fever.
The redness is from the scar tissue and part of the healing process.
You will still have some soreness for awhile. It is considered major surgery.
Watch for fever and foul smelling discharge from the incision site and vagina. If this occurs notify your physician.
I still become sore and have a little pain when I ovulate after my C-Section.
Relax and do what I described above.
Good Luck

A little pain after 5 months in some people is normal. Reddness i would seek medical attention. Another thing you can do is not to wash it with regular water, you can by a sterile saline solution and clean the site with that but, don't use a wash cloth, sponge, ect.. just rinse with the solution. avoid sweating in that area if you can and DO NOT TOUCH IT. If it turns out that it is fine by your doctor, let nature do its course and keep clean. clean every morning with the solution and then keep dry for the rest of the day. Also if exersizeing avoid straining your self and slow walk is fine.
