Do sheep get more than one coat in a year, and
when do they cut the wool off ?

Sheep are shorn at all times of the year. The shearers can't be everywhere at once and they travel from farm to farm to shear the flock. Consequently, the sheep can be shorn at any time. They are shorn once a year.

In areas with harsh winters, the sheep are not shorn when it is particularly cold but apart from that, any time.
