Honestly....think about this....most geniuses come from average parents. And sometimes intelligence is not evident....not all extremely intelligent people have multiple college degrees or high paying jobs. Some did not have the circumstances in life to use all of what they have. So don't ever go by appearances. Not all geniuses are rich, or famous ,or formally educated.

I believe it has a lot to do with the types of foods, the Mother eats. while she carries the child. for what she eats is what her body uses to feed the baby. and build up the bones, brain, and all other parts.
As we know, the brain uses chemicals to transfer information to other parts of the brain. if this baby does not get these chemicals. the brain would not work at full capacity.
the brain, could also lose much need vitamin and minerals to develop the brain. for the baby would not receive all the material to build what it needs.
Example: if you are building a house. you need wood. but if you do not have much wood, so you use. clay, rock and straw to finish the job. it will not become a very good house.
in the other hand, if you had all the wood needed, the house could be built as a strong very good operating home, and use the rock for a fire place. then discard the clay and straw as waste.
I believe that in any other case these, factors are the same as for the brain. you cannot build something right, if you do not have the right material to build it with.
I suggest that a Mother eat lots of fish, cantaloupe and food that also have the chemical that the brain needs, and also good foods such as fruits and vegetables. but drink no alcohol of any kind.
For if a mother drinks alcohol while the baby is being developed, has to understand. alcohol kills brain cells. for you can imagine what can happen to the little brain of the child she is carrying. this will never help matters at all. Also no, medication not even aspirin, aspirin will be to strong for the small brain of the child. But do drink lots of water, our bodies need water. Our bodies are made up of more water than other chemicals.this will help to build the childs body, also brain.

The subject of the inheritance of intelligence is the genetics of mental abilities. Research in this field is facing a number of difficulties, because intelligence as a trait is a fuzzy concept. The genetics of intelligence is thus operationally restricted to the genetics of IQ or the underlying g factor. Nevertheless, intelligence is embedded in the personality as a whole and its development during the lifespan of an individual. Not only is the number of social and biological factors influencing the development of a person a large one, but also there are a number of underlying genes with many minor and very few major effects.

Parents of many a genius are ordinary persons.

It is all in the genetics. Both my partner and I have brown hair but we each have recessive genes for blonde. We have one blonde and one brunette.
Why she got the good genes? Who knows. But it is not from what the mother ate or drank as the gentlemen above me states. I've got 4 kids and the one I ate the healthiest with is not the smartest or the healthiest. The one I ate the most junk food with is. When you're pregnant your body gives to the baby first. If you aren't eating it it will pull it out of your system. That is why when pregnant and following birth you take your vitamins and such. (I agree that pregnant women should not drink or do drugs)
It is pure luck of the draw.

Intelligence may be somewhat connected to genetics, but there is no direct evidence as to how that might be true, and it is certainly the case that many developmental and social factors play at least as strong a role. Therefore, there is no real, neccessary correlation between the intelligence levels of parent and child.

Most definitely, there are even cases of Ph.D. parents producinbg a retarded child. So, what you get is what you get.Genetics does NOT always follow a rigid set pattern.
