And now something else? thanks.

So, say there's someone on P&S whose answers and questions you really like. If you see them talking about how much they hate themselves (in an answer) - do you thumb it down to show you disagree and think they're great
or
Thumb them up because you like them as a person.
?

(YES I realise this matters not a bit in the grand scheme of things)

Thumbs up, because a thumbs down could be the rotten cherry on top of their already miserable mood.

I don't think they would see the thumbs down as a compliment.

Hope this helps! :)

In this case I wouldn't do either. I normally use the thumbs up to show support for the answer itself and there have been a lot of times I haven't agreed with someone I like. I don't give them thumbs down because I don't agree...I use that for those that are offensive or that are just plain incorrect. Just my 2¢

When it is a person that I like but disagree with what they are saying then I don't give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Thumbs downs hides the answers and that's aggravating to me.

I thumbs-down to show I didn't like/agree with the answer..nothing to do with the person. I would think this is the way it would be taken if I thumbs-down in that situation.

I thumb them down because I disagree with what they're saying. I still like the person though.

Thumbs up or down that I issue have only to do with the answer and nothing to do with the person.

kinda hard. I think i would thumb it down, hopefully they wouldn't take that the wrong way, it means I disagree w/ them hating themselves.
I would only thumb-up if I agreed.

I would thumb them up because I wanted to make them feel better about themselves. Besides, they don't know why you thumbed them down.
