Undoubtedly he has had a polarizing effect. How long will it take to repair his damage? Should he apologize now for persecuting Imus after all that Imus has done and continues to do?

Serious. This pompous, pious, self-appointed champion of "civil rights and equality" is one of the biggest racists in the country. He and Jesse Jackson are racists and a disgrace. As long as these two and people like them are around, racism will never be overcome. All they do is incite hard feelings by their poisonous, bigoted, racist rhetoric.

Al Sharpton is trying to make rap music decent again. He has a vision as well as others, that rap might become a tool for the advancement of African Americans. That means that a lot of young, rebellious caucasians will have to find some other music alternative to rebel against their parents with. Al Sharpton is an example of a grown, intelligent, African American man that is doing for his people what he can. You can't blame him for be noble no matter the cost. How can you have the nerve to accuse Al Sharpton of anything other than being conscientious and responsible. Some many thug rappers are advocating murder yet, no caucasians are implicating that rap can help solve unsolved murders. It's because peoples' priorities are screwed in the way of them justifying what they personally desire. It should be a priority to meet the NEEDS of the many over the WANTS of the few. Thank you people. Peace.

If you are letting the shouting of a few extremists ruin your thinking on any race issue, it is only a sign that you are already racist and just looking for a reason.

As for people like Sharpton persecuting Imus, what normally happens when you make such remarks in public? If you are going to go on the air, and say something like he said, and even if he didn't mean it as racist and sexist he still meant it as an insult, you really just have to ride the fall out and hope you don't end up on the street.

Give me a break dude. Imus is a racist. He has a history of being a racist. Sharpton may be a fool but Imus isn't some nice innocent guy. I don't think Sharpton has done anything to hurt race relations cause last time I heard all the republicans who would actually defend a guy for being a racist don't listen to Sharpton anyway. Or so they claim.

Sharpton & Imus are two of a kind. They both should be shunned by the cameras.

I don't think Imus's comments were fair.

He insulted those girls nationally, and without provocation.

These are college girls who make good grades, and they are smart enough to know when they are being insulted without Al and Jesse telling them so.

Al and Jesse have been damaging race relations for years.
As long as they stay in the spotlight, they don't care.

Al Charlatan will not apologize for accusing the Duke lacrosse players as "white rich boys" attacking a "poor black girl."

He has yet to apologize to the asst. district attorney he falsely accused in the Tawana Brawley incident.

Al Charlatan is a racist of the first degree, a shameful person.

And anyone who follows him...is a fool...or just as racist.

Not nearly as much damage that he did by pushing the Tawana Brawley lie upon the world.

Sharpton and Jackson and the other whore mongers make their money from conflict between races. Peaceful coexistence would wreak their livelihood. They HAVE to keep things stirred up. It is their JOB!
