As a chef, I can tell you that you start dishwashing in the kitchen. Learn every aspect of the kitchen; and watch what the chef(s) do. Listen and learn and do whatever they tell you. You have to learn the kitchen and all its parts. You will be amazed at how much you pick up! Don't work at a fast food place, try to get a job with a reputable restaurant. Have fun on your journey!
