You have to ask yourself what the hell was he thinking to say this...was he under the influence of drugs, or "hip-hop" sans the respectable kind of hip-hop...?

I DID NOT say "all". It would be foolish to think that "all" think this way...or would it???

This whole situation is so overwrought. He says one terrible thing, and all of a sudden we are idolizing the basketball team (oh such dignity to stand up to that man!), and it has more media coverage than some much more important stuff. I'm not saying Imus was in any way justified; I think what he said was very wrong. But the fact that it was blown up into such a fiasco shows what our society is like.

For the words to come out of Don Imus's mouth. The thought had to have been in his head first. People with out negative racial/sexual thoughts can't "slip up" and make unintended racial comments. It just wouldn't occur to them. Example: I have heard Rap singers use words that I didn't add to my vocabulary. It's not that I choose not to use the words. I just never considered using them.

Now, I can't speak for all whites. Because I don't know what is on the minds of all white people. I think using the word "ALL" when referring to any group of people is the same type of thinking Don Imus was using when he uttered that disgusting stereotypical remark.

Imus is just speaking how most ignorant people speak. SOME rappers speak this way, and they don't represent all Black people.

his comment was more silly than vicious. But i do think most white people are honestly just laughing it off and they don't see the danger in it.
