Regardless if its wood or fiber-composite, the blade will wear down when not playing on a sport-court style surface. I've played on both cement, asphalt and tennis court outdoor surfaces and all of my blades wear down faster than on plastic sport-court surfaces, even if they're taped.

What it comes down to is how much do you want to spend on replacing a damaged blade from outside use; wood sticks are fairly cheap. Fiber interchangeable blades are around $30-$50 per blade!

I think I'd play with wood outside if I were you.

Well since you can damage it by playing with it on the Ice too.....

I play street Hocket exclusively these days and I use the same sticks. The problem is, like others said the blade will wear down MUCH faster. I would tape the stick as much as I could and use a DIFFERENT stick for Ice Hockey.

It depends on the stick. Wooden sticks are more durable on ice than they are on the street, but some sticks are specifically designed for street hockey, so they should last you fairly long if you know what you're doing with it. Any stick that is specifically designed for ice hockey would not be suitable to use in the street, and can be severly damaged if so used.

Absolutely, without a doubt, yes you can damage an ice hockey stick by using it in the street. Don't do it!!! There is reason a stick is used on the frictionless ice surface, because it doesn't ruin immediately. The macadam will damage and destroy your stick, and they aren't the cheapest items in the world.

well if you wrap it with tape around the blade you might have to replace the tape every now and them and if you don't then it can ruin the blade but if it plastic it can wear down the plastic blade

Captain Obvious would say that you are going to tear up the bottom of your blade. I would agree with him.
