We call it "Houston" (Huston is a director).

There's plenty to see and do:

Click each day and see some of what's going on here in town. If you are here for the weekends of the 21st-22nd and 28th-29th, check out the Houston International Festival
( http://www.ifest.org ).

EDIT: Thank you for your service!

We have a fantastic nightlife here....lots of restos/dance clubs to go. Then some live entertainment too - concerts/theaters/symphonies. For daytime fun, you can visit the NASA Center, Kemah Boardwalk, Galleria Shopping Center, the Aquarium, etc. If you feel like driving some, you can also go to San Antonio for a day or 2 - Alamo, Riverwalk, Mercado, Sea World, etc.

It's also baseball and basketball seasons - you may want to watch the Houston Astros, the Houston Rockets or the San Antonio Spurs.

Welcome to Texas!

Do you mean houston? Just south is San Jacinto. There is a battleship right across from a museum and memorial. Go to traveltex.com for more info on unusual places to see. If you are renting a car, San Antonio is not far away. We always stay at Hampton Inns. They are usually under $100 and have great breakfast bar included.

The museum district has plenty of neat museums to see. Try to hit it on Thursday when most of the museums are free (the Art Museum is fantastic, and there are some famous works on display there).
