A district attorney once told my friend that men should almost always be charged with second degree murder, because they are passionate and respond to things in the heat of the moment, while women should be charged with first degree murder, because they think and analyze things before acting. I guess that view is the opposite of your question

I think this is one of the great falsehoods of our time. No, of course not. But I do know that men and women think in different ways and will find different solutions to the same problems. Both equally valid.
For example a given a specific task to do such as put out the garbage. The man will take the garbage can out on the street to be collected by the garbage collector's. The woman will empty all the dust bins in the house into the garbage can and then put the garbage can out on the street.
Same thing as are women more hysterical than men. No of course not. Men demonstrate hysteria by physical violence. So in an international conflict, a woman politician would try to resolve it through endless negotiation, which after all is the purpose of diplomacy. A man would say, to heck with it, lets just bomb them.

In my experience it has more to do with education than with gender. It's likely that up to a certain point in recent history (and of course still in a great many places) men were more likely to be trained in analytical skills through higher level maths, science, etc. but in my generation (20s) I see no difference at the basic cognitive level. Mmm, actually cognitive science would probably have the answers, but it all depends on the cultural bias of the questions they're asking too...

Men are much more analytical than women. Pschology tests have proven it. Yes, there are exceptions were you can find a woman with equal or superior analytic abilities than men, but overall it is one of the gender differences between men and women that guys are more analytical and women are more emotional. Nothing wrong in it just the way it is.

No, I am very analytical. Much more so than most of the men I have ever known. But then, I am a Virgo--lol.

No. Men are simple. Women are over-analytical. Trust me. I know.

Yes men are more analytical. Their lifestyle requires it of them, just as the lifestyles of women require their particular way of thinking. Indeed it is the very thing that creates the lifestyles themselves. It is a synergism.

It certainly seem so to me. Women just don't seem to get the kind of 1+1=2 logic that comes naturally to guys. My guess is that women are more emotion driven they men.
