Hey, Gilligan, I can understand your problem on the Island with no Home Depot. Get a palm leaf and put it on the inside of the bucket over the hole. It won't be totally water-retentive, but hey, it should get you to the stream and back without losing too much.

Take a roll of nickels and place them in the bottom of the bucket. Pick up the bucket by the handle and carry it to the department store. Set the bucket on the counter and ask what you can get in trade for the bucket and the roll of nickels.

If it's not too big, use silicone. Put a piece of scotch tape on the inside and then coat the outside with silicone. Let it cure overnight and you should be good to go.

You could always tape a smaller bucket inside the broken bucket. That would work!
