80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life is a comedy film/musical made in 1983 by Monty Python. This film was essentially a series of comedy skits about the various stages of life — in some ways a return to the sketch comedy format of the original television series. It was also the last of the Monty Python films. Watch the film and see watch you think.

The true meaning of life no one knows. It is all up to you to decide your fate for the time you have on this earth, do what you think is right but accept help from people along the way. If everyone knew the meaning of life, we'd all be the same without individualism

Each persons life has the meaning they put into it. It is like an empty box that needs to be filled. Your choice; fill it with nonsense or with valuable contributions.
Even if there is a higher being or power (and I'm still not convinced) that entity gave us this life to make of what we will. And if there is not a higher entity, it is still only ourselves who make the meaning in our lives.
I don't believe there is a why. It's like, why climb Mount Everest? Because its there.

the true meaning of life you ask. that is a very opinionated question. to me, the meaning of life is just to be enslaved to your own debts in life. such as own a house car and having kids. but the reason why we are put here is to reproduce. spread our seedlings. its a vicious cycle but down to the true essences thats that lifes about. reproducing your own goods.

the meaning of life is parallel to the size of universe--- there is no end for both.....-- the more u try to find out..more confused u will get...
so try to live everyday... not only for yourself.. but also for those whom u love... bring smile in other faces... fight for right and against wrong... challenge the miseries and diseases of life.... everything can be adjusted...
this is how i understood life... give love to those who brings tears in your eyes.. ... just smile... just live..... at last u will know that u have found the meaning of life even without thinking about life... this is peace.. and this is "why" we live...
