Where did you come from and how did you get so wise.

TAOIST_1117: Perceptive...after the fact, I was thinking more along the lines of an 'N' trap. I would like to hear more about the university you work at.

I perceive you as being very wise for your "quarter century." Certainly you're wiser than you were two decades ago? Wisdom (not information) evolves. There is no "absolute" wisdom. It's more as you say--"rediscovering myself." Also, remember, I might ask a question & find that you have an answer that never occurred to me. Everyone's experiences are disparate, & so too is their wisdom. Have you thought of the "wisdom" in your questions that evoke these answers? When you make us THINK, isn't that a sort of journey to yet more wisdom? I find this section, & psychology the best for thoughtful answers. People like you, who are introspective & always modifying. Just keep trucking! Casting away beliefs, & striving for enlightenment is "change." That is what living is. To believe we have all the answers is to be dead.

Edit: I wonder if eviot44 knows when Jesus was REALLY born?

Everyone has something to offer, some more than others. The key to wisdom is learning to listen to what others have to offer in their dialog & retaining it. My wisdom if any comes from experiences, age & living. I guess for the last 25 years U just not have been listening or possibly paying attention. Where have U been? At 25 Ur just starting to really understand things. By no means am I a brilliant man, just experienced in several things.

Heh, you have perhaps laid a trap for hubris. Oddly enough the past six of my quarter century have been in a little town in Ohio going to and now working at a little university that is a hotbed of growth and change in young peoples lives.

I suppose It's relatively easy to shed inhibitions, give a few seconds of thought, and answer a question honestly ,from the anonymity of a DSL line.

I think all these brilliant people are stashed all over in the corners of our lives. They don't opine to much, as they know they would mostly get hit hard for their unique and non conformist opinions.

How great is it that this type of forum for the sharing of knowledge and information exists! And how fun!

for the past quarter century I was learning the hard lessons that life teaches (as were you I suspect) and now I enjoy trying to share them with others. Do you share what you have learned with others? I think that is reason we struggle to survive, besides basic self-preservation, is to teach others the price of following our path.

They have been in hiding, waiting to take over the world!

Seriously, there are wonderful, wise people everywhere.
Thankfully, the internet is a great place for them to help others.
And I think they read a lot!
