He was. His name was Jesus and he was a man with a profession (carpenter) and friends and a family (Mother, Father, possibly brothers, a cousin). He had the same problems as the people of his day and nobody really knew he was anything other than just another "one of us" until he decided to reveal himself.

So what about now? He could be here, and you'd never know until he decided to reveal himself. The idea that Jesus will come again is a basic tenet of Christianity. And the hour of his coming is unknown and unknowable.

All we can do is prepare by being ready to be judged at any moment. But how is that different from if he wasn't here? We are ALWAYS being judged by others, by people we don't know (not can we know) and how we are judged is based on what they know about us...what we say about them and how we act.

Who would judge for ill someone who selflessly devoted their life to the poor? Who would judge a sinner one who gave all they could to the starving?

This is the message He gave us and it is up to us to move forward with it.

He would be a humble, simple, unkempt homeless man that everyone would ignore and pass by. Sad, but true.
He would have no desire for material things, instead promoting a message of wisdom, peace, love, and tolerance for all people. It's when you're at your lowest, do you realize the true blessings around you, and have the deepest level of gratitude.
