Need to know what kind of Indian you are referring to! If you mean 'India' Indian/Bollywood Indian/Eastern Indian, check out Bhangra dancing! This is a traditional Punjabi Indian dance, traditionally performed by men, and was used to celebrate harvest time in India. Because of British influence, Bhangra is getting big, and is acceptable to dance if you are male or female. Look for workout/dance videos by Sarina Jain, who does the Masala Bhangra workout. Very fun! I have found these videos on Amazon.com . Go to YouTube.com and search for Bhangra dancing. There are many videos of the traditional style performed by men, and many videos of competitive Bhangra dancing teams that include men and women. I can easily find Bhangra music in Borders and at amazon.com. Have fun!

How old are you? If go to or are near a university or college, go to their website and look up the Indian group, usually it's something like ICE (Indian Cultural Exchange) and just email whoever's name it gives you. I'm sure they can help you or at least give you some good information. Maybe you can go to a show and see firsthand as well..
oh yeah.. i forgot about those other Indians.. whoops. if that's the case put your hand over your mouth and hop around a fire with a noisy stick ;)

Well if U are an Indian, we have many reputed dancers in Mumbai and Gujarat.In Mumbai U got Hemamalini's dance academy and in Gujarat there is "Madhur jyoti" class at Baroda and "Darpan" academy in Ahmedabad.And if U are not in India there are many institutes teaching Indian dances try google.com or starware.com.they can help u.

Watch a Balliwood film (spelling?). Or you can watch something like Bride and Prejudice (English version of a Balliwood film). There you can see the styles of dancing and maybe get ideas for music,.

If you are talking about Asian Indian: watch some Hindi movies
if you want old dances: watch old movies
if you want new dances: watch new modern movies
