Be persistent, your doctor probably knows what he/she is talking about but as a society we tend not to question what they say as much as we should. I had pre-eclampsia and I had to point it out to my doctor. He's a good doctor, just human. Don't be afraid to bring it up over and over again if it continues to happen.

It sounds like the ligaments that hold your uterus, around this time they really start stretching to their limits and it hurts, sometimes very badly. Don't hold it against your doctor. They hear so many things that are common things like this, in the scope of the emergencies they deal with seem very small. I am not saying he shouldn't have taken the time to tell you, but perhaps he had something going on with one of his other patients and you know how when you are focused you forget to do the little things. Just ask again the next time you see him and if he still blows you off then have a talk with him. He may not even know he is blowing you off.

I have had 2 kids .I never had any cramping. The only musles that tighten up were bad leg cramps. I'd get a 2nd doctor to check it out . good luck

It's possibly a Braxton Hicks contraction, but it could just be mild pain/cramping that can happen as your body gets used to the changed shape (and changed point of gravity).
I know it can be annoying when your doctor blows stuff like that off, but take comfort in knowing that even though it's annoying, it doesn't mean anything.

Your doctor blew it off? That's not a very good answer. Doctors can be such jerks!
Mild cramping where, exactly?
Just inside your right hip, is it near the bikini line? You might be feeling round ligament pains. Look it up on babycenter.com.

I had cramping on my right side also and tightening up. my doctor told me it was just my body stretching from the growth of the baby. so don`t worry you will be just fine.

could be your ligaments stretching. I had gone walking for over 2 hours and i had pain on both of my hips in the same spot for two weeks and the doc said it was just the baby and the ligaments stretching. if your doc says don't worry then I wouldn't

Ligaments. Get used to it, it will start on the other side to. You have just started the most uncomfortable 20 weeks of your life. But you will love the result!

It could be that the baby is just laying on a certain spot there and you might notice her moving but she could slightly be adjusting herself and press on it, try rubbing that area and if its her she'll get the hint and move most of the time, it could also be stretching =) hope it gets better though i know its painful!
