In your heart of hearts ask yourself this question: If anyone else had been president after 9/11, would they have gone to war in Iraq. Afghanistan, yes, but Iraq, no. Just follow the money, who had the most to gain from a war in Iraq?

It's a semantic argument...
In order to "lie" about something, you would have to deliberately know what you are saying is false.
I think in the case of President Bush, he probably had some information to suggest that Iraq may have some sort of WMD program. Since Saddam kicked weapons inspectors out, Bush probably figured he was hiding something. He put these facts together, along with the numerous UN resolution violations, and justifed this as a reason for war.
Hindsight tells us that we could not uncover any sort of evidence of a WMD program (other than very old chemical weapons and rumors about smuggling WMD's to other countries).
However, this does not make Bush a liar. Misinformed? yes. Should have considered another course of action? yes. But a liar, not necessarily.

He may or not have been misinformed.
But on 9-11 , a direct assault on Americans in America,
could not go unanswered., no more than Pearl Harbor could.
Whether he had an alternative motive (his Father's failure)
we may never know.
The names of terrorists have been coming up for years, and if he was told and thought that is where the weapons of mass destruction were, bombing them was his best possible solution.
I don't think we really realized what a different culture they were, suicide, and no value of human lives.

Absolutely.
It wasn't that the CIA gave him faulty intelligence so much that he cherry picked what part of the data he would share with the Congress and with the American public to make it look like Sadaam had WMD's. If a person wanted to lay to rest any question of why Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et. al. got us into this horrible quagmire, all you have to do is look at the first letter in each word of the following phrase:
Operation
Iraqui
Liberation
Thse three letters spell what the Texan in the White House loves best! Then somebody with a few more brain cells than he has (probably Karl Rove) noticed it on television and the name of the whole operation was changed to Operation Iraqui Freedom.

Absolutely. The Bush administration claimed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (WMD's) which posed a threat to our security. However, they found nothing. Bush also said that Iraq had sought to purchase large amounts of uranium (used for making WMD's) from an African country (can't remember which country it was off - hand). This was proven to be false. They had a second agenda. They just made up this story of WMD's to gain support for the war. Now that this has be proven wrong, our standing with the rest of the world has gone to crap and thousands of our troops have been killed in combat for a war that is completely unjustified. Thanks Mr. Bush!

No, he was pretty clear on declaring that we went to war to dethrone Saddam. The war ended in 2002, it's the occupation that's been a bit messy.

Of course. Didn't he say this:
"Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."
