Usually at night ducks find a safe place to rest: They, like humans, are diurnal creatures. Meaning they do most of the business of living during the day.

Yes ducks are capable of flying at night. They typically only fly at night when they are migrating.Though they will fly at night during any time of the year.Ducks are mostly diurnal meaning mostly active during the day and roosting at night.
They are fully capable of flying at night without crashing into trees or other obstacles.
This applies to wild ducks and domestic fliers only.
