Sydney to LAX is around 12000 K (8000 mi), but that is not really the way to look at the issue. It is 12 to 14 hours direct flight from Sydney to LAX depending on winds. It is about 10 days on a cruise ship direct. It is about 4 to 6 weks on a cargo ship. It is about 6 months, if you choose to swim and manage to avoid the sharks...

Hi,
LAX or SFO it's a 14 hour flight. Departs around 11:00PM you arrive two days later around 7:00am. Time changes and the International Date Line.
