OMIGOSH.... This is the last question in my lesson for my online class and I'm so burned out! I have NO IDEA! No clue! Any help at all would be deeply appreciated! THanks!

It is one of the first major armories in the United States. It wasn't until Eli Whitney invented the concept of interchangeable parts that something like this could even be dreamed of. Before Whitney every musket and rifle had to be individually made, and each part had to be custom made. With the armory., however, it was now possible to mass produce and store military muskets and canon, each with interchangeable parts and each in massive numbers.

Longfellow wrote a poem with the same title in 1845 and it illustrates how significant this one factory was in the industrial development of the USA.
