You might want to try a few miles away from Destin along hwy 30-a. The beaches change names every few miles Santa Rosa, Seaside, Seagrove, etc. You can probably rent a condo for the same price as a hotel in that area. www.vrbo.com

I live in Tampa and I have been to Siesta Key and I must say it is one of the best beaches Ive been to and I lived in hawaii for 3 years. Its very nice and quiet there and very beautiful. Ive never stayed there so I dont know any resorts or hotels but there are alot of rental homes there also. Ive never been to Destin so I dont know but I would definetly recommend Siesta Key.

I grew up on the panhandle. Destin has great beaches. I now live in Sarasota. Siesta Key has sugar sand just like the gulf coast. Either one is beautiful.

Although I haven't been to Siesta Key, my family and I just returned from a vacation in Destin and loved it. Our condo had a private balcony that overlooked the beautiful white beache. I'd have to say it's one of the prettiest places that I've been to in Florida. We stayed at Edgewater condo, but there are many good ones all along the beach to choose from. http://www.destin-resort.com is a good resource for information on Destin condos.

I've never been to Destin, but I plan to go to Tropical Breeze Inn on Siesta Key.

I would recomend destin, in that its off the main area. and the prices are good. Did an 82' spring break that lasted for 4 weeks.
