Either situation is an automatic record. One is for the least pitches thrown in a complete game and the other is Most strike-outs in one game. I would rather see an 81 pitch game with 27 strike-outs because it shows that the pitcher dominated, each player (assuming no one was replaced) had 3 chances to record a hit off of the pitcher and each batter failed 3 times. The pitcher also threw only strikes, no balls, which is pretty amazing.

27 pitches for 27 outs because you can still get a hit off you if you just have 27 strike outs then it wouldn't be a perfect game

I have to go with 81 pitches to have 27 strike-outs.
Having 27 K's posted on the outfield wall by fans would look great.

81 pitches to have 27 k's would be rediculous, however 27 pitches for 27 outs is very efficient

I'd have to say 81 pitches for strikes. Now if the batters swing and never touch the ball that would be the ultimate perfect game.
With 27 pitches that means the pitches were hitable and that would not be as good.

yes a truly perfect game is
9 innings
no hits
o walks
81 pitches
27 outs / 27 strikeouts
in game 7 of the world series
if you strike them out then they cant even find the ball but if they put it in play then you were not trowing truly perfect and were unhitable

81 pitches to have 27 strike-outs. You would set a record and earn the respect of so many batters.

81 pitches to have 27 strike-outs hands down.
It would set a record for most K's in a game.

81 pitches for 27 strikeouts. That is pure domination. That is only the pitcher doing the work, not relying any on the fielders.
