I don't know what the sex of my baby is yet, but would like to have some nursery ideas written down so that i can get started. I'm an artist and plan on doing all the drawings on the wall myself. so i'm just looking for a few ideas, whether it's what you did w/ your own nursery or if you just think it's neat, please let me know. and thanks for your comments

A couple of things i was thinking of was a scene of the ocean kinda of sliced down the middle.... the sky on top, with a little sand and trees in the middle with the under the sea view on the bottom..

Another idea I had was baby jungle animals or baby safari.... :)

I am also and artist and was planning on doing the painting, but I have chosen to go with a very simple anfd contemporary look.

Hope I helped :)

I think you want to decorate that will last the first eight years of the child's life until the child is ready to ask for specific wall decorations.

I would recommend a seascape, including the beach and various life from the sea. I have a beautiful Lassen print in my master bath, which could be easily used for ideas for a nursery. I have dolphins on two walls, one which has LED lighting. Then the rug is a deep asure blue with one wall (holding the poster) in a light blue.

If I had your artist skills I would create a ceiling of clouds and one accent wall or maybe two where you could paint or hang various sea creatures, etc. As the child grows and takes interest in the walls, you could add more items from a boy's bed that looks like a canoe to a girl's bed that has lace drapings. The carpet to match instead of hard flooring, so baby can crawl around the room, could be brown for sand, or blue for water, or green for grass.

Look at a Christian Lassen poster just by googling. Eaach poster is different for ideas. You could paint a scene on one wall and hanging a poster on the other where you might want to place the figurines, etc.

Have fun!

My sister in law painted a garden on her baby's wall. Base color is sky blue and then she added trees clouds and tons of animals everywhere. Very adorable and you can add little details as your baby learns animal names or has other interests.

To me this is a ultimate personalized theme and unisex at the same time.

I will be doing my daughters room in a deep purple/gray color - it's really pretty. Green curtains and little bugs/ butterflies / lady bugs on the walls here and there. It's going to look so cute!!!
Plus hopefully, she will grow with the color and I won't have to change it, we'll see.
