A comet is a very large dirty snowball that lives in the Oort Cloud on the fringes of the solar system - sometimes getting nudged out to fly out towards the sun. When it approaches the inner solar system, the sun's heat starts to melt it and it grows a tail (two actually - the white one is from the melted ice and a fainter blue one is from escaping gas). The tail always points away from the sun because it is formed by the solar wind which the sun is emitting constantly.

An asteroid is a lump of rock of varying sizes, left over from the formation of the solar system. They live in a belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter but again can be nudged out of the belt. However, they are less visible than comets and may not be seen from the Earth until its almost too late.

An asteroid is a mass of rock and metals that are left overs from the development of the solar system or thrown off from other planets during a Hugh impact. A commit it made up of water, ice and gasses. As a comet gets closer to the sun and warms up, the ice slowly melts releasing the gasses which is why comets have tails trailing behind them and asteroids do not. Scientists theorize that after the Earth was born, comets showered the earth non-stop for tens of thousands of years and left the seed of life. Water!

a comit is in a continuous orbit around the sun, where as an asteroid is just floating around the solar system. Also, their chemical composition is different. An asteroid is rock, just rock, whilst a commet often goes to the outer reaches of the solar system far from the sun, and so is frozen, a big ball of ice, almost. As it comes close to the sun, the ice begins to burn/melt, and this is what is seen as the tail in comets we can see from earth.

A comet is a celestial body moving about the sun, usually in a highly eccentric orbit, consisting of a central mass surrounded by an envelope of dust and gas that may form a tail that streams away from the sun.

An asteroid is basically any of the rocks floating between 480 miles (775 km) to less than one mile (1.6 km) in diameter, that revolve around our sun, and orbit between Mars and Jupiter

an asteroid is basicly a big chunk of rock wandering around space. A Comet is frozen gas and debris in a continuous orbit

asteroids mostly have ecliptic orbits but comets have parabolic orbit comets have 2 tails (because of their temperature and the solar wind) but arteroids dont have any tails astroid are mostly between mars and jupiter but comets's region is over the pluto's orbit . asteroids can be remain by the time but comets can be destroyed even in its first rotation . the components of asteriods is carbon and metal but the comets are mostly the mixture of ice carbon and silicat

A comet is a ball of ice and dust that orbits the sun (Haley's every 76 years.)We only see them when they get close to the sun , they develop a tail, getting bigger as they near the sun.
An asteroid is any of numerous celestial bodies with characteristic diameters between one and several hundred miles with orbits in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

Asteroids are just rocks. (really hard)

Comets are balls of ice and dust. (melts and falls apart)

Meterorites are just small asteroids (meteors are meteriorites that don't make it to the ground, so no reason to be worried).

asteroid is a rock >1km in diameter from the asteroid belt between mars and jupitor also called minor planets or planetoids

comet is like a dirty snowball and is orbiting the sun. they come from the kuiper belt and the oort

a comet is a piece of matter in space that flys around some of the planets, it has this tail of matter behind it. an asteroid is a piece of a planet or a large space rock that has dangerous proportions, one is said to be heading to earth right now
