its a great game ---- Agreed
But to answer your question, why do indians like cricket so much, well its clearly because they rot at every other sport, cant say it any nicer but just face the fact ;D
And soon you will see this sport fading away from that country, just look at their pathetic performance!
stick to bollywood!!!!!

Credit honestly goes to cold war between India & Pakistan.

If there was no enemity between 2 nations, maybe Cricket wouldn't have become such an intense passion for Indians.

IND vs. PAK before years triggered off this strong interest in minds of Indians.

And now...... cricket has become like a religion. People take it too seriously and personally RATHER THAN a sport.

India used to be governed by England until the mid-1900's when the great Mahatma Gandhi led them to Independence. England influenced India to adopt many of their traditions and cultural apsects, such as drinking tea and playing cricket. Cricket was highly popular in England, and when England controlled India, they brought the sport over to India. Since then, Indians gradually began playing the sport and the sport in India has grown to what it is today: the most popular sport in India, leading to India becoming one of the world's best countries in international competition.

In cricket there was only one chanc for batting, but in other games not like that they can put another goa; in remaining 5 or 10 min.

I think cricket is a very technical game than others.

I think we dont have exact infrastructure for another games . Hocky is our national game . But we don't have a correct management to hike this game. What i think is our poverty is always a one reason.
