The Vatican says the Pope is infallible, but he's never actually said he is. (Not the new one, anyway.) Bush acts as though he thinks he is.
Then again, the current Pope served in the German Army in World War II, but didn't have much of a choice. Bush chose not to serve abroad in Vietnam, and acts like a Nazi true-believer.
I'd go with the Pope. I don't think he'd really leave children behind and then say he was leaving none behind. And while he might launch a crusade, he'd show the people the proof of a threat first.
This would be a much easier choice with John Paul II still alive. I never doubted he loved humanity. I do doubt it with Benedict XVI. I doubt Bush even HAS humanity.

Since there is no reliable source that supports the Democrat belief that Bush ever said that God told him to go to war in the ME, then the question becomes moot.
And as far as secular matters, the Pope doesn't have cred with me. Spiritual, sure.
Wait a minute, why are you trying to let the Pope run our foreign policy? And if you support the Pope on this, do you also support on his positions on birth control, abortion, homosexual sex, sex outside of marriage, embryonic stem cell research, etc?

Well, consider I have never heard of Bush holding a religious service and running it, and he can't administer communion and has no religious authority to bless a damn thing, the Pope wins hands down.
And if God did in fact speak to GW, I think that someone stopped taking their medications a couple weeks before.

Because of his position as the Holy See I would suggest that the Pope would be closer to knowing the wishes of God. However he would not necessarily know them all but this one I think he would have a pretty good idea about.

This is a no brainer... Bush is about as religious as my dog. He uses religion as his weapon.. pulls it out when needed, trying to look pious.. but has no problem letting young men and women die daily in his unholy war...
Bush has no religion but oil.... and he is serving it well.
