Osama bin Laden precipitated change throughout the world by influencing our reactions to invasion in Iraq, straining and threatening relations with our traditional allies, thereby causing us to establish new relationships with, for example, India. The whole ally structure has been upset and altered. Osama bin Laden's 9/11 changed the course of history.

I'd have to argue Osama bin Laden. If not for the 9/11 attacks, we wouldn't have the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
