Last January was the coldest in 35 years here, and our annual average mean temperature was DOWN for 2006.
This winter, February was the coldest in 100 years and March the coldest on record. When you live in the interior of Alaska, that's pretty f*ing cold, let me tell you!
Yet the ice caps *are* shrinking and I can certainly tell a difference in our weather - it's become much more extreme. The beginning of winter was almost record-setting mild, the end record-setting cold.
Alaska *used* to be a pretty warm place, then the Ice Age hit. What makes everyone so certain that this is *not* a natural cycle? And if it is, who the hell do we think we are? We can't stop nature. How completely arrogant to think we have that type of power.
Frankly, if people are all that concerned about the environment, they should not have children. It's not the environmentally responsible thing to do.
And I love how the left makes it sound like every single scientist on the face of the earth agrees with their idea of global warming. I work at a research university, and one of our scientists is *very* well known internationally. He doesn't dispute the climate change, but he most certainly disputes the idea that it's *all* man-made.
Didn't NOAA try to silence one of their scientists for speaking out against global warming? I don't have time to look it up right now, but I'm pretty certain that's who the poor guy worked for.

One of the failures of this debate probably stems from the original failure of the name "Global Warming." While correct, its superficial meaning seems to lend the impression that the world will simply get warmer over time.
While Global Warming Theory does make such a contention, it is important to bear in mind that this temperature rise does not occur in a vacuum. Weather is a complex system (look up "complex system"). As such, small changes can have vast and even paradoxical effects in the overall system. Because of the innumerable forces at work in conjunction with, and influenced by, temperature in determining weather, one of the central claims of Global Warming Theory has been that a rise in extreme weather (increased hurricanes, drastically unseasonal weather, etc.) will follow. That, in a nutshell, is why--the complexity of the system is also why weather can't be predicted with very great accuracy.
It is also worth noting that this argument has found salience in anti-global warming advocates. Their argument is that since weather is such a complex system, controlling any effect we might have at the margins cannot have foreseeable outcomes. It's too simple to say if we stop polluting, everything will get better. Because of the complexity involved, we cannot know _if_ greenhouse gases are having any effect nor _if_ we can predict the outcome of such a variable.
Who knows who's right.

because of the fact worldwide warming is in that's entirety; ridiculous. particular the planet is warming. particular that's anthropogenic. So??? The planet has fluctuated in temperature perpetually. Our present day lifestyles is attributable to those fluctuations. the element is that noone extremely cares. There are lots extra significant discoveries to be made than scaremongering. maximum 'green scientists' are people who did no longer understand the technology. yet they have spent their finished existence studying it. i know shall we tell human beings what they already know and could be hassle-unfastened experience; something you do adjustments the ambience, attempt and make those adjustments as small as achievable. am i able to ask you why you think of worldwide warming is a controversy if there have been consistent temperature fluctuations for the time of historical past. Why does it remember its anthropogenic? we are no longer powerful adequate to create the adjustments to/from the snowball earth (fairly time-honored historical past of Earth). Our contribution is in fact miniscule. particular we will sleep extra beneficial if we alter it much less. that's gonna get too warm for a super form of species however. Then it gets too chilly for lots. This has constantly got here approximately (why else are ninety 9% of species extinct different than to a continuously changing ecosystem) desire I replaced your innovations. purely stay, **** it. all of us make a small contribution, in my opinion even smaller. It wont make lots of a difference, we ought to constantly attempt and look after an e nvironmeit people are happy to stay in. yet do no longer difficulty, all the real scientists are ulimately helping to realize this. So stick a ******* image voltaic panel up your **** and end being so terrified of nuclear means and we would be fantastic

They're going to tell you it is proof of global warming.
Just like someone tried to say that the reason there were no hurricanes that his the US last year was because of Global Warming, but yet Hurricane Katrina was because of Global Warming.
It's all because of Global Warming I guess!?

It doesn't. The environment can handle us. This whole global warming issue is being used to distract us from a deeper truth and other more vital issues.
We would just be better off keeping the environment in mind as we evolve. That's just smart and enlightened. The way it is being used to gain symapthy votes is pathetic.

You don't get it, do you? Global means universally. Global warming is happening in other parts of the world. Latin America, South America, Antartica, Africa, Asia I could go on.....
An article of interest from Forbes Magazine:
Rising global temperatures could melt Latin America's glaciers within 15 years, cause food shortages affecting 130 million people across Asia by 2050 and wipe out Africa's wheat crop, according to a U.N. report released Tuesday.

If your world would consist of a rather small plot, you would still live in the dark ages (600-1400 A.D).
Fortunate, since then we have learned from science, that the earth is round and consists of more then what you can see from your village.
Global warming is a worldwide trend, now indisputably measured with instruments, not hanging a tongue in the wind.

If it weren't for global warming, instead of being 19 degrees below average temperature for April.....we'd be 20 degrees below normal.
