I have a cousin sister who is a little mentaly chalenged from her small age.She claims that she is seeing a religious deity visitng their house.
The deity at times helps them in taking decisions, keeps company to my sister and acts like a family memeber. This has beeing going on for nearly 3 years but now the deity gets violent. My sister gets minor bruisers and scars from pinch and bite marks.
Her father passed away when she was young
My aunt believes in her story about the deity. I first thought this might be a imaginary friend she has but after hearing about the scars i came to think this a litle serious...I want to know what maybe her problem?

It may not be a problem. Could be an angel or ghost. Or she's more mentally challenged than you or your family are willing to admit.

The best thing to do is to make sure your cousin isn't hurting herself. Watch her as much as possible and maybe put a camera in the room where she will be left alone. That will give you your answers. If she is hallucinating she will hurt herself and will need further help from professionals. If she isn't hurting herself and the marks on her body appear for no parent reason, then you may want to get the house blessed.

Good Luck!

If you just take the hallucinations, it sounds like a case of schizophrenia, but since you said her father died when she was young it may be a case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD can take on may forms but the identifying characteristic is that it stems from a tragedy in one's life. Either way, you should go to a psychaiatrist to get a formal diagnosis and suggestions for coping.

If she was hearing "little green men" talking to her, no one would have trouble calling her a schizophrenic.
As soon as she says it is a "religious deity", then people want to believe it is a religion-related phenomenon.
It is not. She is schizophrenic and should see a psychiatrist for medication.

She needs professional help. There is no deity.

A good therapist, preferably a psychiatrist (in case she needs medical intervention) should be able to help her with whatever is bothering her--either through talk therapy or a combination of talk and medication.

It is likely your relative is injuring herself--a practice that is sometimes associated with depression or a bipolar disorder.

Good luck.

She is mentally ill. Take her to some good psychologist.
