It depends what type of cyst it is. There are many different kinds. Some need to be removed and some are just cyclical and harmless. I have the cyclical kind that just burst and regrow every month. The person would have to get an ultrasound to determine what kind of cyst it is and if surgery is necessary.
Chemo would only be if it were cancerous. The person above me shouldn't scare you like that.

Get it checked out by your doctor. I get ovarian cysts all the time. For the most part, they dissolve on their own and it is no big deal...However, there are times that they don't dissolve and need to be surgically drained. If you don't have them drained, they can rupture and that can be dangerous. I have learned the hard way that it is better to be safe than sorry. I thought that since cysts are a regular occurance for me that i knew my body...big mistake...I ended up in the ER having emergency surgery for a cyst that was the size of a grapefruit that had ruptured. I ended up losing an ovary as well because the cyst had killed it...Just get it checked out and let your doctor make the call about what is right for you.

Can be dangerous if it ruptures. Can cause infection throughout your body. I would seek medical advice on the best way of handling this situation.
