Depends, is this a question of sepearate or different results.
In other words, does 1 - H - T count as the same outcome as 1- T- H.
Either way the answer is false.
You already have 6 disticnt results with a 6 sided die.
And with 2 coins, you have either 3 or 4 results (H-H, H-T/T-H, T-T).
You could also mutiply the outcomes if it is a unique set 6 x 2 x 2. If If they must be different, then use a factorial series on the coin flips.

I think it is false, because a die has 6 possibilities and a coin 2, that makes 8, BUT if you combine the 2, there is in fact 12 possibilities

A die has six numbers so each one could be combined with two heads, two tails , one head on coin a and one tail on coin b and one tail on coin a and one head on coin b. That gives 24.
