Seriously, I have had a c-section and I also went through
10 hours of hard labor from being induced. In my opinion....labor hurt more! The scars are so minimal, I can barely see mine even when I look for it and it's so low there is no swim suit, low rise jeans or even underwear that shows it. YOU are the only one who knows your body and your pain tolerance. I figured I would have a c-section since my sister couldn't deliver her 3 kids and my mother had 2 c-sections with us too. My doctor told me not to plan on it, but your first instinct on how you'll deliver is usually right....it was for me. People who ridicule you are just idiots and half of which probably have never undergone a c-section. I was back to my normal self within 2 weeks and since they close your uterus more for you through massage, you'll actually probably bleed less and not leave the hospital looking 6 months pregnant (only 3 months lol). Follow your own heart and mind and it will be the best decision for you and your baby. Good Luck!! Any questions email me, okay? I know what it's like being scared out of your mind lol.

I wish people would know what they are talking about....for one drugs in your system from a c-section?? It goes into your spinal canal ONLY and never enters your blood stream so there is no adverse effects on the baby. BUT read the possible effects of pitocin on a baby it ranges from respitory problems to rare fetal death and SO many things in between. Also...I had a c-section and 2 months later my stomach was flatter than before I got pregnant since I lost another 5 pounds over what I had gained. And healing time is months?? I had absolutely no restrictions after only 4 weeks postpartum and even after 2 weeks the only restriction was no vigerous exercise yet but I could carry my daughter, walk, clean and basicly back to normal. People should really know what they are talking about before they spout off old wives tales.

A C-section should only be done for a medical reason, not for patient convenience. What do you mean by "I don't think I will take to the drug..."? Your doctor can order an epidural for you, so you don't have to deliver "naturally" if you don't want to. If you have a c-section, you will be anesthetized, intubated, and will have major surgery. You will be recovering from surgery just at the time you'll most want to be active and enjoy your new baby.

If you don't have to have a c-section because of a medical emergency, don't have one. Child birth isn't easy regardless of the method. Having a baby vaginally is much easier than a c-section.

It is better for the baby to go through a little bit of labor. It triggers the final stages of lung development etc...

I had a c-section after being induced. I was induced for my first child, but gave birth vaginally. I would chose natural if I had a choice. The recovery period was so much easier.

My c-section scar still hurts when I get my period and my son is 26 months old.

I think that it would be best to try for a vaginal delivery first, knowing that inductions lead to a higher rate of c-sections. I was induced with my first and the baby did not react well to the pitocin, which we didn't find out until after my water had been broken so I ended up having a c-section. And with my second I opted for a repeat c-section. I'm fortunate to be a fast healer and I was able to leave the hospital 44 hours after my first c-section and 48 hours after my second c-section. If you opt for the c-section I just suggest that you try to get up and moving around as soon as possible afterwards.

I've had two c-sections and I would have much rather had natural childbirths, but it wasn't an option. You don't get to pick anyway about which one you want to have. If you are unable to have the child vaginally, then the doctors will decide to do a c-section. Trust me, I would much rather take 14 hours of pain than 2 weeks of it!

You do whatever you feel best doing. Although you might want to consider giving birth naturally, to experience it. Also if you have any kids in the future it might be harder to find a Dr. to give you a VBAC.... Vaginal Birth After C- Section, so make sure you completely have your mind set on on a C-Section otherwise you might regret it. Good Luck!!!

My advice to you is do it naturally. The c-sections at the moment may be less painful, but then once the baby is out, I heard its super hard to even get up from bed because of the cut. You take like 2 weeks or more to heal. Then your stuck with a scar. They say when you do it naturally, it might be more painful at the time, but as soon as the baby is out, you can get up and walk perfectly fine. You might feel a bit sore and tired but all the goes away really quick. You have more time and energy to enjoy your new born. Do it naturally if you can! Good luck!

What do you mean by "I don't think I will take to the drug?" What does that mean?

You have to have drugs if you're going to have a c-section. Are you talking about the drugs they use to induce?

From what I have heard, inducing can often be harder than if you just start going into labor on your own.

I would examine the risks to the child first and foremost. If there is any risk that the child could be injured during a regular birth, then I would recommend having a C-Section. During a C-Section, you are the only one that is being hurt and it is a pretty safe surgery from which you will heal permanently.
Good luck with the baby!

Its really your choice but the pitocin (the drug they use to induce)didn't work for me and after a day of it I ended up having a csection anyway, my 2nd child was a vaginal delivery but had to be pulled out with forceps, my 3rd was a scheduled section. I would chose a c section over a vaginal but that's my opinion.
