Ok, there was a country singer in the late 80s-early 90s named Rodney *something*.. I can't remember his last name, but I know it wasn't Carrington or Crowell.. He was kind of nerdy looking.. Short dark hair, glasses, skinny guy.. All I remember is a song about breaking up and he's all playing the guitar in the streets... Does anyone remember who this guy is, or what song he sang?

Okay, After some very intense thinking and thought, lol....The only "nerdy looking" country singer I could think of that even came close to "Rodney" was RADNEY FOSTER.
I looked this up and even found a video of his that sort of fits your description for a song called "Just Call Me Lonesome" which was a pretty big hit of his back in the day...hope this helps. The video link goes to CMT and shows the full length video. The other link goes to his website.
