Our National Treasure, men and women in uniform responding to the call of their Nation being brutally stabbed in the back by Democratic Grandstanding, it is an obscenity , and clear message to any enemy that would harm the citizens of this Country that they can count on the Democrats to be their ally?

Bushfan8: Already served. Have thought about going back but with Coward Democrats being the worst enemy imaginable, leaving our troops high and dry, I would not want to die because a democrat caused me to be without equipment.

But you would be ok with dying to help the Bush administration profit from the war? That's really why we're "staying the course". It's so Bush can make every last dime from this war before the Dems takeover and inevitably pull out.

Hey, if you're cool dying to help them profit then RIP my friend. I'm sure they can give a fat f*** about you and the rest of the soldiers. They are businessmen. They are concerned with profits, not bettering the world.

Raymond, I don't know you, but I can guarantee you're the type of person who enjoys a good fight. You probably have been in quite a few bar brawls. I'm sure some you could of walked away but you didn't want to be labeled as a coward so you instead got you a** kicked in the name of pride. Most people that are for this war are either gun crazy fighters, or the sit at home fighters that use phrases like, "my brother will you kick your a**!". Raymond, you would probably support any US lead war regardless of the circumstances. I don’t know you, but it's fair to say you enjoy a good fight. Just like the Cons and Reps enjoy slapping the yellow ribbons and pro war stickers all over their cars. They enjoy the RIP (Fill in the blank with dead soldiers name) email forwards with the sad story of how some soldier died as a result of an attack from an Iraqi who thinks he's doing the same thing the soldier is doing - protecting his country. You probably think it's great when you hear about a bomb strike with 150 Iraqis dead, regardless of whether or not it's confirmed if they were insurgents, citizens or children at a school.

So go ahead and call Democrats cowards. If it makes you feel better about yourself. Obviously, you have some issues if you think Democrats opposition of the war translates as a hatred for our troops. I hope, for your sake, that you don't go back to Iraq and get permanently injured, because with your logic and intelligence you wouldn't stand a chance succeeding at much here in the states.

Bill Clinton won a war in Kosovo in 6 weeks without losing an American life, and the Republicans cut off the funding, and he never called them unpatriotic or cowardly. The Democrats know how to get things done. Not just done well, but over. Don't forget, there was no 9/11 under Clinton. They waited until the smart man was out of the White House and the stupid man was in. By the way, where is Osama bin Laden? Bush said he would get him, dead or alive. Bush backed off the pursuit. That's cowardice.

Nonsense.

When did "support our troops" become a code phrase for "send them in to battle unprovoked wars ill-equipped and with insufficient armor, offer them substandard medical care when they return home injured, or suffering debilitating psychological trauma, and deny them the strength or opportunity to accomplish the stated mission so that we don't lose Afghanistan along with Iraq."

This war has nothing to do with courage or cowardice. It is 100% about diverting public funds (future taxes) to present corporate profits. Blackwater. Custer Battles. Aegis Defense Systems. Halliburton. KBR. Titan. SAIC. CACI. $45 for a single can of soda pop, and $100 to launder the contents of a single duffel bag. No bid cost plus contracts and annual executive bonuses of millions. It is nice that CEOs are amply cared for by the present administration, even if it means our troops are getting hosed. We can all thank God (and Bush--God's right hand man) that every disaster (Katrina) and debacle (Iraq) has proven such a lucrative method for stealing from the poor to benefit the rich.

Kudos to Michael, Vicky, Squawk, MathBio, and Michelle for their great replies.
