Why do we kill people who kill people to show that killing people is'nt ok?

its not quite like that.
we kill people who kill people to stop them from killing other people
we might just lock them up for the rest of their lives, but silly liberals keep letting them out again. which is how people who were supposedly safely locked up end up killing still other innocent people

No it isn't the greatest way to deal with murderers, but what else can we do with them, put them in jail? People on trial for embezzlement are in jail, and I think that you will agree that embezzling and killing are at the opposite ends of the severity spectrum. Yes we should have a better way to deal with them, but we don't.
