Depends on the situation. If you're going to an office job, where most people wear suits, then it is a little unprofessional ( I wouldn't really say trashy). If it is just to wear, then there is DEFINITELY NOTHING wrong with having bare legs. I only wear pantyhose when I have to attend a formal event.
They are uncomfortable and not really useful most of the time. This is not the 1950's anymore....it's ok to show your legs without having hose on.

Wearing a dress without pantyhose is just about the most trashy sight you can see, these trailer trash bare leg sluts have no sense of style whatsoever, kinda like monkey see monkey do, just because one trashy fashion slut decided she was too lazy to put on a pair of hose, this fad caught on and now today it seems the style for women to look like saturday night ho's.

It's not trashy to go without. But, there are times where they should be worn and are not. I really think it looks bad to see a woman in a nice suit at the office or church and for her legs to be bare. With casual skirts and dresses, bare legs are fine.

I find nylons or pantyhose much more erotic on a woman than bare legs.

Depends on the legs - clean, shaved, stylish
Depends on the dress. Tight skirts, VERY short skirts - not good. Mid to longer length loose skirts - not a problem.
Depends on the outfit - sometimes the balance of colors needs the extra statement of tinted or colored stockings. In those cases, bare legs detract from the overall balance of the look.

No----it is not trashy. It is in style. I only wear pany hose when I am wearing a real dressy dress or going somewhere that I feel I should. Also according to the shoes.
I am 53 and don't wear them even to church, unless I think the dress would look better with them.

Most dresses: evening gowns, sundresses, young women's dresses, jean skirts, etc. look good without pantyhose. Only a few, such as business suits and prim and proper skirts and dresses look better with pantyhose. Even so, many older women wear those gross "nude" coloured pantyhose that don't look nude at all. It's better to stick with black, white, coloured or even patterned if you're up to it.

Pantyhose are great for cooler weather and help make a girl's legs look like they are tan, but are not necessary for a girl to wear with a dress.
Take care,

I think it is inappropriate to have bare legs at formal gatherings, in the office, or at church.
If you're in a cute summer sun dress and going to the movies/mall or just hanging out somewhere casual, it is perfectly acceptable.
If you have a skirt that is mid calf or below, it is acceptable to have bare legs in any setting that it would be appropriate to wear capris (even if they are business causal capris, like in an office setting)
