I got this Handyman Club of America, membership request. With the membership you get tons of free stuff just for giving a review on how it works. And the membership is only one dollar a month.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is it fake?

Don't plan on getting "tons of stuff". You will be asked to buy tools and stuff but you would be lucky to get to do testing and receive anything free. This company has other subjects such as Fishing and Gardening. They will send you books you did not order and then threaten you if you do not return or buy them. Best advice is to save your money and your sanity. Took me 3 years to get them off my back.

I was sent a charter membership about 3 or 4 years ago. I didn't bother with it. So it is legit and they are trying to sell magazines as I recall. It may be worth it, so what can you lose 24 bucks, give it a try if it interests you.

I got that same offer in the mail and applied a rule my Dad taught me. He was a young man during the Great Depression and I always valued his advice concerning money. The rule? If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Judging from the answers you got, old Dad's info is still straight skinny.
