If we let the military torture anyone it will only be a matter of time before the police are torturing "confessions"
out of people. If you think that is not big deal because they are only torturing criminals, think again. In Dallas county alone 13 people who were in prison have been exonerated because DNA proved they were not the right person. How do you know the people at Guantanamo are really terrorists? Do you really trust the president (Bush or future presidents) to make that choice without anyone looking over his shoulder?

Many of the "terrorists" we are holding incommunicado and torturing never did anything to anyone. We know this because we have let some of them go. One, Arar, was a canadian citizen we rendited to one of our foreign gulags where we could torture him with impugnity. Unlike Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib, where we torture with a small measure of pugnity.

Namsaev points out that we have not cut a single throat. Good for us! We have smothered prisoners, shot them in the back of the head, and executed more than 30 at Abu Ghraib (fewer than a dozen of these deaths were investigated). But we didn't cut any throats, that is true, so that makes us morally superior to the islamic terrorists who DO cut throats. It also makes us morally superior to the people who were doing nothing against us when we picked them up and shipped them off to some of our foreign gulags where we or others could torture them.

We are also morally superior to "islamofascists" (even if they are only suspected of association with terrorists) because we torture them with waterboarding and anal rape. We use proper torture techniques, and have trained many of the world's leading terrorists in torture techniques at our beloved "School of the Americas." Has anyone forgotten the nuns in Guatamala tortured, raped, and murdered by graduates of our wonderful School?

But what the hell. We are Amerika! We should be free to torture and murder whomever we please, without any cause whatsoever. Suspend habeus corpus. Violate the Geneva Conventions. Absolute Power to King George! All Hail Our Fearless Leader! Sig Heil!

Please provide non-biased proof of widespread unpunished torture of Iraqi prisoners/ terrorists. As far as I know there is none, and the US military will not stand for it as they showed in the abu grabe case. We treat the prisoners we capture much better than they treat our prisoners. When was the last time we forced a taped confession from a prisoner and then put it on international telivision? I am pretty sure you can't find an instance. So untill you know what you are talking about do us all a favor and quit repeating rhetoric you heard on the Communist News Network (CNN).

I find this question a bit confusing: we are mean to Terrorist prisoners? Well, I guess that depends on what you classify as mean and what you consider torture, but off hand I would say that our (meaning the US Military) action is because they are Terrorists. I always love it when a question answers itself!

The reason they are in prison is because they are implicated in plots to blow up buildings and kill Americans.

They are - hello? - terrorists?

These are not people who simply have differing political beliefs, these are individuals who have actively participated in plots to attack America.

They should have basic civilized treatment - in fact, if they were treated like cattle they would be treated better than regular prisoners in federal penitentiaries. But we are not "mean" to them, we don't torture them and we certainly should not close Guantanamo

We haven't cut a single throat (unlike terrorists). And we DO cut the throats of cattle so I guess we really aren't treating them like cattle now are we.

Tell Hillary to divorce Bill and I'll put her back into consideration. If she'll tolerate Bill she'll tolerate bad behaviour for anyone. Do you really want that kind of person as your President?

Thank you, Rosie. Our TERRORIST prisoners are being treated better than anyone in their country's prisons. They have prayer rugs and Qorans. We don't torture them. They are being held until the end of the conflict in Iraq.

What did they ever do to us?

The operative word is TERRORIST. They bomb non-military targets.

BTW, Rosie is very close to the end of her carrier in television.

Americans don't torture. The Constitution, the peace loving nature of Americans, and their strong moral position in the world, does not allow it.

I have a one-way ticket in my possession to Guantenamo Bay for Blosie O'Douchebag, Sean Penn and YOU.

If you want to sympathize with the terrorists so much, you should join them.

You, obviously, hate your country.
