Are there any online sites that would give information on properties? Such as year a house was built or who built it? who lived there? etc?

No there are no on-line sites that would cover anything like that unless the house was very famous for some reason.

You'd be best served by first calling your local real estate agent. They might have some information and might also be able to direct you in the correct direction. Your county Hall of Records will also have titles, bills of sales, etc. This is all public information.

If it is a historical piece of property, also check with your local historical association. Finally, see if you can find anyone who is elderly and who has lived in your town for awhile, they can be great sources of information.
