I think I would surprise them, like give them a card with vacation package tickets in it and on the card write "PACK YOUR BAGS WE"RE GOING TO ?????? (your choice)" And mention all expenses are paid by you. Did you win or something?

Some may find this difficult to conceive due to personal diversity, but i would give them half, and if it were you who gave it to me then i would also take you on a long cruise or two, first in Aaska--- where there are indigenous species of flora that bloom only on the tundra that leaves one breathless; and the second one would be a Great Lakes cruise around the Thousand Islands because i have always wanted to ; an what better way to share something than with a friend such as you.

It would depend on how much I needed the money and how much I liked the friend or thought they deserved the money. Were it a moocher-friend who bought it for me as a way of paying back for some other debt, I would perhaps give him a few thousand. Were it my closest friend, who gave the ticket to me in some benevolent gesture, I would either split the money 50-50, or do a 40-60 split, something along those lines. I would be less willing to give away the money if I was in debt, or if I was at the point in my career where that money would allow me to retire or take a year off.

If a friend bought me a lottery ticket, then that friend would fully realize that they were buying ME a lottery ticket that might win. I feel quite certain, that a friend that would buy me a lottery ticket, would also buy themself a lottery ticket, fully realizing that they, as well as I, may or may not win anything. In that case, I would not feel obligated to share winnings, although, I would want to do something for my best friends, whether they had bought my winning ticket or not

No question - 50 / 50. A good friend is worth more than money.
Just happened to a friend of mine (me not involved) - he bought his father in law a lottery ticket and the guy won over $180,000. And he had to be talked into parting with some of it. Finally gave my friend $500. !
They always had a good relationship - not anymore.
Come to think of it, my son in law is a cheap bastard himself.
I ought to smack him just on general principles.

I would take that person on the vacation of a lifetime and while on vacation...give that person a little note with the amount of money i intend on giving him/her once we got home. Its only fair and will in no doubt share the happieness 10 fold!

Sure I would. If I won hundreds of millions of dollars, I don't think I'd miss 5 or 10 mil! What are friends for, you know?

It depends on how good of a friend they are. Most likely I would because only my good friends would buy me a lottery ticket.
