Court Reporter.

Unfortunately no. The Bible is not used in courtrooms any more. The United States was founded on freedom. Freedom to speak what you want and believe what you want. Although I am a Christian, I understand that if the Bible were still used in the court to swear people in, it would be a bias to other religions, a blatant statement from the officials of law that they prefer Christianity to Hinduism or Muslim. But what if you had a Muslim judge? Why can't he or she switch the Bible to the Qur'an? Christians would then be insulted. I think the American Judicial Officials (Or whatever the people that made the final decision on this topic are called) made the right choice in just taking the Bible out of swearing in.

He/She is called a Court Reporter. They use a small machine with paper that unfolds as they type. The keyboard is almost like a typewriter but without letters or numbers on it. They type in a shorthand method which is similar to text messaging.
