Global warming does not mean the earth is getting closer to the sun! It is all about the greenhouse effect - certain gases released by industry trap warmth from sunlight inside our atmosphere. It's like a car on a sunny day sitting in the sun - the heat gets in, but can't get out. The earth is the same distance from the sun that it ever was.
However, eventually, scientists say that our sun will turn into a red giant star, when it begins dying. Then it will grow so large it will consume the first three planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth). But that is billions of years into the future. So yes, you will probably see your grandchildre.

Um you should start reading up on global warming instead of just "hearing" about it cause we aren't moving closer to the sun...That has nothing to do with the problem...I also don't think that's even possible (for the earth to move closer to the sun).

Oh my goodness..
Global warming is not caused by the earth getting closer to the sun.
Global warming is not caused by President Bush.
Or his buddies in big oil.
Or by President Clinton.
It's all of us: You, me, that other guy, all of us, burning fossil fuels (oil, gas) that contribute to the greenhouse effect.
Talk to any astronomer, he'll tell you. The earth may be slowing down, but so slowly that it will take billions and billions of years before it would fall out of orbit. The sun will go nova LONG before then, a few billion years from now.
Too bad, it would have been nice not to have to worry about taxes for once.

You don't really think global warming is caused by the earth getting closer to the sun, do you?
Wow. Apparently you haven't been hearing ENOUGH about global warming.

The Earth isn't moving into route of the sunlight. The sunlight will boost to engulf Mars, Venus, and Earth. The sunlight has a life span of 10 billion years. Scientist estimate it really is 5 billion years previous now. So in 5 billion extra years, the sunlight will boost and life in the global will quit to exist. with slightly of success, lets have discovered a fashion off this rock.

To answer your question, we have approximateky 15 days, 5 hours, 12 minutes and 15 seconds till earth hits the sun. My suggestion is to dig a hole in your basement and wait for the crash to be over with. Afterwards you can come out and go dancing on the sun.

Before the Sun goes into the sun, the world would have ended long time ago due to domestic conflicts and nucleur wars.
There are currently enough nucleur bombs to wipe the world off easily. So fear that rather then the sun.
