She is a convicted sex killer
She participated in the rape and mirder of her sister
She participated in the torture and murder of 2 school girls.

Her husband Paul is never getting out

She got 12 years in a deal with the Crown to put Paul away before they figured out how involved she was believing I think that a woman couldn't have done this .

The police bungled the investigation - Several forces failed to cooperate at all over it and numerous mistakes were made (kind of makes me wish we had a US style of the FBI takes over in certain cases involving sex crimes)

She got a University degree while in jail ( tax payers)

Now she lives in Quebec with a husband and a child of her own

She claims she has the right to be left alone she served her time and so forth

Does she ?

Just because the Crown screwed up and made a deal does she have the right to be left alone as a "normal" citizen of the country ?

I remember this case from years ago and I was shocked that she was not held as accountable, if not more so as Karla Homolka participated in the rape and death if her 15 year old sister with her husband.

I don't know what the laws are in Canada, but in general, no...she should be a Registered Sex Offender and have to be monitored on a regular basis to insure she doesn't end up sexually abusing her own child, but the is just my opinion.

Every criminal has the right to be left alone after they served their time. This includes murder, theft, and the worst sex crimes. It's up to the judge and jury to decide guilt and impose the sentence. Once the sentence is served, the media or public has no right to follow them around. If the police think the person still poses a danger to the public, too bad, it's wrong to publish the criminals face and create hysteria. If the judge doesn't think the person is a danger, who are the police to try and punish this person further. The media chases these people to sell their story and make money.

I read the book "Invisible Darkness" and the impression I got was Karla took more of an involvement than Paul did. I think she should have got at least an equal sentence or more. But, what I think doesn't matter. I respect the judges descision even though it was botched by the crown.

When you say "left alone", what does that entail? She should obviously be tracked and what not by the police.

But as for ordinary citizens, they don't need to harass her. Its the cops job to do that. Even though she's a convicted killer/rapist, its still harassment for ordinary citizens to call her and harass her.

If a convicted killer got out of jail for time spent, and a citizen who thought he should have got the chair, killed that ex'con, it would still be a crime charged to the citizen.

SO yes, I think she should be left alone by everybody but the police.

In my opinion, no. I have a real hard time trying to understand why any man would marry her and produce a child with her. Obviously, neither are safe around her. Her history as a murderer and sex offender should be formost in everyones mind when dealing with her. I wonder what her neighbors think about having her in the neighborhood?
