No. I think Labour will undoubtedly take a beating in the upcoming elections, but anybody expecting them to be wiped out is frankly living in cloud cuckoo land. Labour will certainly do better than than the right wing clique on Y/A would like.
There is a kind of political inertia in the UK, particularly in Labour and Tory heartlands. No matter how unpopular their policies are, there are a lot of voters who will continue to vote for the same party they have always voted for.
It will be a big surprise, however, if a sitting government did well in a mid-term election. Labour are likely to do particularly badly in the council elections in England I would have thought. That being said, I don't think the Tories will gain as much as they would like, since Cameron doesn't seem to be popular among right wingers and UKIP might cause a significant split in their vote, letting Labour or Lib Dems in. It could very well turn out to be a good night for the Lib Dems in England who could make significant gains from both sides if they play their cards right.
Labour are very strong in Scottish local government and have a lot of very competent councillors who will get votes because they are well respected as individuals. Don't know so much about Wales, but I think the situation might be similar there. So I think Labour may be safer in Scottish and Welsh councils than in English ones.
In the Scottish and Welsh Parliamentary elections the Nationalists are strongly tipped to do well at Labours expense. Particularly in Scotland, the SNP are being tipped by most pundits to be the main party in the next ruling coalition. Recent polls, however, have been kind of ambiguous, with some showing Labour in the lead, and others showing the SNP in the lead. So on average there's an indication that Labour may be fighting back. The outcome is nowhere near a certainty.
One thing is for sure - these elections are going to be the most interesting for some time.

Completely fair. In the councils up for election on May 3rd, Labour are defending 4,324 councillors and defending control of 47 councils. My guess is that they will be lucky to lose less than 1,000 councillors (and might even do as badly as the Conservatives in 1995 when they lost 2,000 councillors). As for council control, all of the Scottish Labour controlled councils will be lost (as they are using STV in 2007) which reduces the total to 41 and I can easily see them losing another 18 taking them down to 23 councils controlled. In other words, a complete Labour meltdown

Very few British people have not bothered to vote against the
biggest Mosque in the world being built in London and paid
for by taxpayers money, but the Muslims are voting in droves.
I think Labour may get a narrow margin as most of the
immigrants will vote Labour, and a lot of the British people
will not bother to vote.

If this country has got any sense they will be. Life for the average normal person has never been so bad or expensive. They have forgotten the basic principles of a Democracy and are too concerned with the needs of the minority to realise just how far they have alienated themselves. Not saying any other party has necessarily got the lot but there is no way anyone can be this bad.

Its not a real Labour party any more anyway its a neo Tory party with no left wing principles at all. Unfortunately I think the far right will do well B.N.P. and UKIP will gain.

I hope they get a real trouncing. They are an absolute disgrace to this country in Government. They have undone work that took centuries to put in place. But when things go wrong they have the money to just fly off to an alternative country leaving our children and childrens children to pay the price of their criminally mismanaged government.

Mmm, not exactly. Think of all the people relying on them for money? All the single mums, the immigrants, those who don't work....? I think it'll be a close one to be honest!
