The vice president's only power right now is to lead the Senate (doesn't have to) and to break a tie in the Senate.
We could have a constitutional amendment giving him/her more power.
What powers do you think the vice president should have?
Do you think this would indicate what he/she would do in the presidency?

I think there should be a vice president who's dem., a president who is repub. and they swap spots after the four years, then after eight we have an election. That way there can be compromise and that way everyone will be happy. There is so much political segregation around here it drives me nutso.

Also, there won't be so much tug a war with the way things are run. It seems like everything changes everytime we get a new president. Inconsistancy will unbalance a lot of stuff.

Of course you're assuming that by making a rule, the Vice President would abide by it - your first mistake. A vice president like our current one cares nothing about the rule of law.

Who do you think is running the show? You don't honestly think G.W. is, do you? Why would you want Cheney to have more power than he already has? If you knew more about his past and where he comes from you wouldn't be asking this question...

Only if the position is elected and not as a running mate!
