generally speaking companies are pretty good about situations like this. I would recommend you try to call someone in the HR office to let them know of the oversight, but emphasize that you want consideration based on the fact that other materials were sent in "on-time". A little courtesy will go a long way in this; however, don't grovel, professional without showing "need".

I guess it depends on how nice the company is and also if your application is strong enough to consider. Also you might be lucky if it's a situation where the applications all go into a specific mail inbox and the inbox is not checked immediately at the deadline but the next working day. Don't get your hopes up..
Employers nowadays can pick & choose to their heart's content, so if they want to play things 'by the book' you're stumped at the 1st wicket.. Hopefully not in this case, but be prepared.

It's not likely that they'll consider you for the job. By not including your application it shows you don't pay attention to detail, and by resending it late, it shows you aren't punctual. Better luck next time.
