to that one girl that said, people cleaning homes, who puts these people to work. without rich people this country would crumble. so why would we tax them more when they add jobs to the economy and do things with their money better then the governments. i amd not talking about minimum wage workers, i am talking about low life dead beat people who collect welfare but are perfectly healthy to get off their asses and get a job.

That's just dumb.
Everyone should pay the same amount.
Why punish the ones that know how to better handle their money?

If you want to collect enough money to run the government you have to tax hard working people, because people who don't work hard, or at least had an ancestor that did, don't have any money. So it is a question how you divide the tax burden between small business owners, doctors, engineers, computer programmers, etc and the million and billionaires. I think the super rich should pay at least the same percentage of their incomes as high salaried working people, which they do not now, under current tax law. How much extra taxes are you willing to pay so the super rich can have even lower tax rates, or do you think we should borrow the money?

It is the old and the sick that consume the vast majority of government welfare spending, not the able bodied poor.

I believe that your tax rate should reflect how much space your belongings take up on the surface of the Earth and the space above it. The more stuff you have, the higher your tax rate should be. Nothing to do with income.

Why do you think the poor don't work hard. Most of the poor are working poor. They work very hard at low paying jobs, minimum wages, and do most of the irksome work you might not consider work. They clean your homes and your offices at night, cook meals, serve food, drive vehicles, type, process, and file documents, carry the heavy loads of stuff you buy, and work hard to see that you are assisted in buying the stuff you feel is owed to you because you are "better than them".

They own very little, take up very little space on the earth, and spend almost all of their money on necessities. Maybe you are just a class bigot, perhaps.

The rich are taxed more because they can afford it. It is fair. If everyone paid the same percentage of taxes the rich would be even MORE rich and then the world would really be in trouble.

I believe in taxing the rich! Where would big corporations like Wal-Mart send their employees for medical insurance without the handouts?
