I'd love to give a positive answer to that but I see very little good coming out of the world and a lot of negative. I wonder who will be there to do charity work in 20 years time when few people seem to care now.
We allow our Governments to perform atrocity after atrocity and lap up the lies they tell us because it is convenient for us to do so. We accept the poisonous daily bread fed to us by the sold out press and find inspiration in being ignorant because ignorance is bliss.
I don't believe the world is coming to an end but I believe nature has a way of finding equilibrium. When one component of an eco system destabilises the system, the system will irradicate it if it doesn't irradicate itself.
The Human race has only existed for a small percentage of the world's existance and I don't think it will be around for much longer. We'll probably do some heavy damage to this world on the way out but it'll recover over the next 10,000 years or so and maybe another species will become too big for it's boots before the sun collapses and wipes all life out on this planet. It's difficult to tell. With world leaders as stupid as ours, I can't believe it can continue much longer.
I do believe it could continue but the human race had better get it's act together quickly. Nations need to stop competing and start co-operating. Religions need to stop conflicting and looking for their differences and start finding what they have in common. We need to evolve out of our animal state and seriously see ourselves for what we are. We rely on instincts which have little necessity in the modern western world.
I find it amusing that conspiracy theorists blame "the Illminati" although how anyone could believe that elightened people would guide this world in to the mess we see around us with some master plan as an excuse for their idiocy is beyond me.
Our problem is that we allow ourselves to be led by the selfish and the greedy and the vain instead of the kind and the humble and the wise.
The internet is full of wisdom and knowledge, philosophy and theology - but the most searched for thing is porn. Porn is a quick, cheap thrill. The problem really is our need for instant gratification and it's that which will destroy us if we don't learn to control it.
The sooner we get intelligent world leaders and not slimey powermongers like Bush and Blair, the better. If our leaders are solely self interested, what hope do the billions of us have?
This will sound nuts to some but I hope that Iran does develop nuclear defence capacity and that it develops the wisdom to not use it and to accept Israel as a Holy nation and as brothers. Islam's victory won't be in war it will be in peace. It won't be a victory of land it will be a victory of faith. The Muslim people won't gain anything from anybody else but they will gain so much for themselves. Seeking global domination for Islam is exactly the same as America seeking global domination for itself - it's not about righteousness, it's about individual greed. Iran developing nukes may be the only thing to stand in the way of western bullying. But if they use them to bully, we're all history.
Let's see how long Yahoo leaves that on for?!

Blah. I *so* don't want to go with the crowd here....why?
Because for all its faults, human civilization, and particularly Western Civilization, *isn't all that bad*, and would not suck so much today if people gave it a fair chance to *work*. Doesn't the rampant decay and ruin going on in places like downtown Detroit or in New Orleans give people *any* clue that letting things fall into anarchy would be *so much worse*?
Really. Evil can only win when "good people" do nothing. Yes, I am aware that is a quote, don't recall who said it first at the moment....but this one very much applies.
We need to snap the hell out of it. We need to stop looking for the end of the world every time something goes wrong. You'd rather *expect* this kind of behavior from someone who wants to die and is openly suicidal, right?? O_O
So why is it that *I'm* not acting like this, when I've ranted about my mood issues since day one here on Answers and elsewhere, while all of these "well-adjusted" ordinary people go on so about the End of Days? I have *reasons and excuses Both* to think the world is coming to an End, but *I don't want it to*. Some of you guys seem to *want it to*, but what *is* your excuse for having this attitude? This isn't making sense, sorry.
Look. Let me put this plainly: I know the game is rigged, ok? I get this. Perhaps I was the first one *to get it*, but I somehow doubt it. A lot of the time today, people who *can* solve problems just don't care to, and those who care to solve problems (or need to) aren't allowed to by an exploitative society.
But....this doesn't let you off the hook. You're still alive, right?
Implicit in that--being alive--is that you should do something with your life. Something. Anything. Do what you *can do*, even if you cannot really do what you need to. Every little bit helps. Get a bicycle and use that as your main vehicle. Avoid shopping at Wal-Mart. Volunteer. Tell the HMOs in your community to go *blow a goat*, loudly. Whatever works, whatever there is that you think you can do to help....do it. Talk to people. Smile at a stranger. Pick up after someone else's trash (or just remember to not litter yourself). Turn the ringer off on your cell phone and *pay attention* to the people who are right there with you.
If the world is up to no good....then it follows that it *needs* somebody to do some good for it. And every little bit helps. Give away a little bit of what you want to see out there. Don't strain yourself or make it a chore, that isn't the point.
The point is to simply *be* a good example, and to prove the most *paranoid* of Murphy's Laws wrong: That No Good Deed Goes Unpunished. Prove it wrong...all it takes is one simple good act. One.
If you don't *want* the world to end, *do* something [*] about it.
Thanks for your time. ^_^

Corruption in government, some churches.
War. Oil. Too many young deaths in war.

Keep in mind that your world is important - keep it that way. Focus on the good things that you do every day and make those things better. Better for you, your family, your friends, and all other things that you hold close to you - personally.
Separate the "wheat from the chaffe" and maintain the courage in understanding those things that you cannot change, and making better those things that you do daily.
Keep smiling - it gets much better than all "this".
