To put it simply, there were no Denver cents made in those years, or in 1967 for that matter. Good luck collecting...

No Denver or San Francisco Cents were minted in 1965, 1966 or 1967

You won't find any 1965,66, or 67, D on any coins. Cent through 1/2 dollar. The U.S. during that period had a coin shortage. The coin collector was blamed and the powers to be in their infinite wisdom, decided to not put the mint marks on, so collectors would not save more than one coin of each date. It was actually found that it was the goverments fault, they thought that silver and clad coinage would circulate together, they thought wrong. All the silver coinage diapeared for everyone knew that silver was worth a lot more than copper/nickel. They also found out, the cent was being hoarded more by the average person than collectors. People just threw them into jars or piggy banks. Lets face it, the government has been out of touch with the people and reality for a very long time now.

And there's also the quibble that USA has never had "pennies" as coinage. It's had and has "one cent" pieces.

Some anachronisms are notably hardy.
