though of asking a charity shop to borrow one for the night, anyone done this? just need to take some photos of my clothes im selling modeled on one.

sometimes when shops are going out of business, they sell the fixtures, etc. from inside the store...maybe u could check local newspapers, etc. to find any that might be getting rid of their display items for a reasonable price...also, maybe a local tailor or seamstress shop would be willing to let u borrow or rent/buy one for a small price..if all else fails, there`s always ebay!!!....hope this helps!!! good luck!!!

It really depends on what sort of tone you are looking for. Want a guitar that can sound like Jimmy Hendrix...get a Fender Strat. Want to sound like Slash then go with the Gibson Les Paul. That being said, Gibson quality has been sucking lately and their guitars are way overpriced for what you are getting. Go with a nice vintage used Gibson and you'll be happier. Fenders are good depending on where they were made. Pass on the Chinese and Korean Fenders. The Mexican Fenders are actually great quality guitars, the only thing they lack is a bit lower quality electronices. The American Fenders are hit and miss as the quality out of their American factory is spotty sometimes, but they have the best quality materials. My fave is the Japanese Fenders but these are harder to find, there are websites that sell only the Japanese Fenders though. These are similar in materials to an American Fender but the build quality is better.
